In pursuance of the orders dated 06.05.2010 passed by the Hon’ble Central Administrative Tribunal Chandigarh Bench in O.A. No.312/HR/2010 titled as Anita Bai V/s Chandigarh Administration & another whereby the Hon’ble CAT has quashed the earlier advertisement for inviting applications from amongst male candidates only for appointment to the post of Conductors and also left open to the respondents to issue fresh advertisement making all persons eligible irrespective of sex and therefore in compliance of said order of the Hon’ble CAT applications on the prescribed format given below are invited from male / female Indian Nationals for the posts of:

Pay Scale: Pay Band Rs. 5910-20200 and Grade pay Rs. 1900/- plus usual allowances as admissible to the Chandigarh Administration employees from time to time.
Age as on 01.01.2010: Minimum 18 yrs. Maximum 25 yrs. relaxation for 5 years for SC and 3 yrs. for OBC and 10 years for Physically Handicapped in upper age limit and for Ex-servicemen/ departmental candidates as per rules applicable.
Qualification and Experience:
(1) Should have passed 10+2 from the recognized board/ Institution.
(2) Should hold a valid conductor licence.
Selection Criteria:
On scrutiny of applications, eligible candidates have to qualify a written test (Objective Type). The question paper will consist of 90 marks. The question paper will be based on numerical ability/general knowledge /general awareness and knowledge of English Language of matric and 10+2 standard .The time of the written test will be one hour. The Candidates equal to four times of the available vacancies will be called for interview on the basis of merit of the written test . However, if more than one candidate secure the cut off marks equal to the last candidate, all such candidates will be called for interview. Maximum marks of interview will be ten (10). The final selection will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the written test and in the interview.
Application Fee:
A demand draft in favour of “Director Transport, Union Territory, Chandigarh” payable at Chandigarh must be attached with the application for Rs. 200/- by the General and O.B.C. candidates and Rs. 100/- by the S.C. and Ex-Servicemen candidates on account of processing charges (Non Refundable). No processing fee will be charged from the physically handicapped (Ortho) persons.

How To Apply:
Application duly filled in all respect on the PRESCIBED FORMAT on thick paper must reach in the Office of the Divisional Manager CTU & Director Transport, U.T. Chandigarh, Plot No. 701, Industrial Area, Phase-I Chandigarh either personally or by post by due date i.e. 25.06.2010 positively. Applications received incomplete and after due date will not be entertained under any circumstances. Govt. servants should apply through proper channel on the prescribed format through their heads of departments. Application must be accompanied with proof of educational qualification, age, Caste (SC, OBC), EXM, valid conductor licence and physically disability certificate in the case of handicapped persons. Notes:
In case of any dispute, the decision of the Divisional Manager CTU & Director Transport, Union Territory, Chandigarh shall be the final. The interview will be held to access the physical capability, general awareness and over all personality of the candidates, keeping in view the requirement of the job. Scheduled castes from all over India would be eligible for benefit of reservation on the pattern of Central Govt. .So far as Other Backward Classes are concerned, the benefit of reservation to this category would be extended on the pattern of the Central Govt. wherein the OBC would have to be as is included in the Central list and the Union Territory of Chandigarh list.
